This 50-hour yoga history, ethics & philosophy module is an immersion in yoga philosophy first. Where in your foundational teacher training you were introduced to the vocabulary, the traditions and lineages and some of the more mainstream yogic ideas and practices, in this module we have an in-depth look at yoga texts, read and interpret together, learn how to marry asana and other practices, look at the ethics of yoga in the western world, developing your own practice in combination with asana and answer some of your burning inquiries in yoga.

reading, interpreting and applying yogic texts

a deeper look into Patanjali Yoga Sutras

reading and understanding Katha Upanishad

teaching methodology on integrating yoga philosophy in teaching and practice

interactive discussions on ethics, appropriation, neo-colonialism and the place of yoga in the world today

who can join our 50-hour yoga history, ethics & philosophy module

Anyone with a dedicated yoga practice and has completed a 200-hour YTT.  This course builds on previous knowledge of philosophy. This 50-hour yoga history, ethics & philosophy module is part of the modular 300-hour advanced YTTC. More information on that course HERE.
